Grow Monrovia is a local non-profit dedicated to restoring habitat, enhancing biodiversity, and fostering a deeper connection between people and the natural world. Through tree planting, habitat garden creation, and climate-resilient landscaping, we are working to transform underutilized spaces into thriving ecosystems that support pollinators, birds, and other wildlife.

Since 2019, we have collaborated with residents, local organizations, and community volunteers to plant over 600 shade trees, replace water-intensive lawns with native landscapes, and develop public and private spaces that showcase the beauty and resilience of California’s native plants. Our projects include transforming large turf areas into biodiverse meadows, eco-friendly community gardens, and integrating water-wise techniques such as sheet mulching, Hügelkultur mounds, and bioswales.
To expand our impact, we launched a community-led turf removal initiative, partnering with local contractors and vendors to help residents transition to sustainable landscapes. By prioritizing recycled materials, drought-tolerant native plants, and edible landscaping where appropriate, we are building a greener, more resilient Monrovia—one garden at a time.
